Westchester Tag Sales

May marks a spectacular month of tag sales in the area.

With the uber-amazing Brimfield Antiques Fair kicking off this week in nearby Sturbridge, Massachusetts, I’m feeling inspired to do some antique hunting of my own. May is the season of tag sales, and they’re especially worthwhile in Westchester, where you might score a pair of Eames chairs or a vintage Chanel purse at a local estate sale.

I can’t say that the finds will be as sexy at these Westchester tag sales, but I can promise the thrill of the hunt. Plus, picking up a little something for your little one won’t cost more than a few bucks. Here are some of the 7 biggest tag and estate sales this May in the region.

Spring Tag Sale at Union Church, Pocantico Hills
When:  May 11 + 12 from 9am to 4pm, rain or shine
Where: 555 Bedford Road, Tarrytown
The Goods: Lots of clothing for women, men & children, white elephants, home baked goods, linens, paintings & frames, plants & flowers.

Pound Ridge Elementary School Tag Sale
When: May 12 from 9am to 6:30pm
Where:  In the former Tumble Bugs, 55 Westchester Avenue, Pound Ridge
The Goods:  Clothes for everyone, ice skates, wagons, sporting goods, toys & more toys, books for all, glassware, pictures & frames, lamps, baskets, dvds, furniture, crib & mattresses, housewares, games, puzzles, and more.

Pleasantville Giant Benefit Tag Sale
When: May 18 + 19 from 9am to 4pm
Where: 107 Bedford Road, Pleasantville
The Goods:  A sale to benefit the Hudson Chorale will feature furniture, collectibles, appliances, children’s books, jewelry, toys, sports equipment, CD’s, DVD’s, good used clothing and accessories, decorative art, etc.  Early Bird from 8:00am – 9:00am for $10.

The Junior League of Central Westchester’s “Funhouse Family Tag Sale”
When: May 12 from 9am to 2pm
Where: Wayside Cottage, 1039 Post Road, Scarsdale
The Goods: In addition to face painting for kids and treats for all, you’ll find children’s toys, books and clothing, housewares, sports equipment, and more! $2 for early birds from 7 to 9am; 9am to 2pm everyone is free.

Giant Tag Sale, Cortlandt Manor
When: May 19 from 10am to 3pm
Where: St. Columbanus Church Parking lot, 122 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor
The Goods: There will be 50 tables of stuff to sift through. Expect furniture, housewares, clothing, toys,  and more.

Charity Tag Sale, Yorktown Heights
When: May 11 + 12 + 13 from 9am to 5pm
Where: American Cancer Society, 2693 Ridge Road, Yorktown Heights
The Goods: Expect everything from housewares to toys, and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Rye Playland Craft Fair/Flea Market
When: May 19 + 20 & May 26 + 27
Where: Boardwalk and Fountain, Playland Parkway, Rye
The Goods: Not only might you find someone’s tossed treasure, but you can pick up unique crafts made by local artisans. Hey, and a walk by the water never hurts.
