Harvest on Hudson is one of those miraculous restaurants that marries memorable views with incredibly delicious food. I went for lunch with my mom and three-year-old on a scorching hot day. We walked from the village of Hastings and when we finally arrived, the restaurant was like a mirage. Nestled in a plentiful garden growing fresh vegetables with sweeping views of the Hudson river, Harvest on Hudson is spectacular.
Once seated on the covered patio, we cooled off immediately sipping ice tea and marveling at the view. Harvest on Hudson specializes in Italian food and with the lush, organic garden all around me, I really felt like I was in Italy.
I ordered the seared red snapper and vegetable torte with fresh tomato sauce. The vegetable torte was made from polenta smothered in fresh mozzarella with grilled portabellas and fresh basil. My mom had the filet of sole with brown butter, braised endive, lemon and capers. My daughter had penne with butter and as much bread as she wanted. She was happy and my mom and I were beyond happy. Our prix fixe lunch included our entree plus a salad for $19.95.
Harvest on Hudson is the ideal date night restaurant or the perfect place to wow an out of town guest. And wow yourself, while you’re at it.
