Bubble & Tweet, located in Rye and Bedford, is one of those stores that once you’ve stepped inside, there’s no going back. Back to the big chain stores, that is. I decided last winter that I should buy my daughters less clothes, but better clothes. I came to this realization as I was putting away a multitude of sparkle t-shirts and faded dresses. I lingered longer on a few of their favorite dresses that looked great after many washings — those were the better quality dresses. I vowed to buy less cr*p!
Bubble & Tweet specializes in high quality clothes for tots, teens and women featuring a mix of classic, boho and trendy brands. Some brands were new to me and some weren’t, but everything in the store was tasteful, sophisticated and fun. If you’re like me and you want to mix in a few extra special items in with the rest of my child’s wardrobe, this is the place. You will find every day clothes and special occasion, hair accessories and one or two choices of shoes (in a few colors) for girls and boys. The atmosphere of store is playful with over-sized stuffed animals and toys, so your kids won’t mind hanging around while you peruse the goodies.
I couldn’t leave Bubble & Tweet without a couple dresses and bright, funky tights that my girls would love all season. Pink Chicken‘s fall collection is the perfect mix of whimsical boho. The above Pink Chicken dress ($94) is a beautiful shade of purple, a sure fire bet my daughters would wear it.
This Pink Chicken skirt ($72) is twirly and girly and the sophisticated color and print would look great with anything, even a sparkle t-shirt.
I was so impressed by the Joules sweatshirt dresses in polka dots and stripes with delicious color combos. The above Joules Dress ($58) looks comfortable, chic and warm.
The Joules clothes for boys were sporty, classic and fun. The Rugby Shirt ($52) is sporty enough to be every boy’s favorite shirt. How cute is the red bunny logo on the plaid shirt ($50) and the vest ($62) could warm up just about anything in your son’s closet.
And I fell for the boys’ Kickers Shoes ($98 – $105). Those bright laces keep them from looking too serious. Because, after all, we are talking about clothes for kids.
Bubble & Tweet has two locations: 656 Old Post Road, Bedford, 914.234.6622 and 15 Purchase Street, Rye, (914) 481-5798.
