Pumpkin Patches 2012 in Westchester County

Not just pumpkins but a whole day of festive fall fun.

September 22, 2012

There’s something special about picking out your own pumpkin, choosing it from all the others at the pumpkin patch and bringing it home to live with you (or outside your house) until the end of Halloween. I always feel a little attached to the pumpkin I take home. As a kid, I used to even name them.

Here’s our first annual guide to the best pumpkin patches in the region.

Not only can you pick your own pumpkins, but there will be face painting, pony rides (starting Sept 23), a live band, a bounce house and animals like baby goats, baby alpacas, and donkeys. Their country store sells fresh eggs from their farm, their own grass-fed beef, produce, local honey, local dairy products, maple syrup, cider doughnuts, fresh baked pies, homemade fudge and Green Mountain Coffee. We have been going to Barton Orchards for the past few years and really like it. You have to pay for admission but it is very kid/family friendly and lots of fun. http://www.bartonorchards.com/index.html
