I was very excited to hear about Greenburgh Nature Center’s new nature-themed playground in Scarsdale. We have always enjoyed visiting the nature center; seeing the animals and running around in the fresh air, but now when we visit we’ll stay even longer. There’s nothing my girls like more than a playground. And this playground is very cool.
The playground consists of three play areas geared towards different ages and abilities plus swings for babies, swings for big kids and some swinging benches for parents. The play equipment is beautiful with elements designed to look like nature itself. The setting couldn’t be better for inspiring kids to enjoy the outdoors with a forest surrounding the playground, large rocks and plenty of open space for running around and being a kid.
The Toddler Tree House (above), for ages 6-23 months, has fun shaped stairs, a tree house, tunnel and a slide.
The Nature Adventure Climbing Structure, for ages 2-5, has leaf shaped stairs that lead to a cool tree house, tunnel slide, side-by-side slides, a bouncy bridge, and fun place for climbing. The tree house is unbelievable! I’m sure kids can make up all kinds of games when they’re playing inside.

The Forest Habitat Climbing Structure, for ages 6-12, is phenomenal with a wood climbing structure, bridge, two tree houses, slide and more.
The Discovery Playground opens this Sunday, September 30 with a free party with music, snacks and activities. Party starts at 2pm for members and 3pm for the public. RSVP on their website.

Greetings From Anywhere will be playing at this really exciting event. Bring a lawn chair and some snacks and your dancing shoes! Nothing better than outdoor music under an Autumn canopy while the children tucker themselves out on an awesome playground!
