Westchester Magazine’s American Dreamhome had its ribbon cutting last Thursday, and we went for a sneak peek at the designer digs. More on this, including lots of pics of the inspiring space, tomorrow. First, I wanted to share some really exciting news.
Crabtree’s Kittlehouse, a white tablecloth institution of fine dining located in a mansion in Chappaqua, is opening a second, more casual eatery in Tarrytown. Rivermarket Bar & Kitchen will be part gourmet market featuring the best local foods the Hudson Valley has to offer and part wine bar. Best of all, it will offer fresh, farm-to-table prepared food, including made-to-order, wood-fired pizzas. A large outdoor patio overlooking the Hudson River will seat 100. Inside, dozens of tables will surround a center bar and extra-long communal table. With the upcoming opening of Riverwalk, a one-mile stretch of trail along the Hudson bordering the restaurant, Rivermarket Bar & Kitchen is poised to become one of the coolest spots in the Hudson River Valley. (A portion of the future trail is shown below.) Rivermarket will be located in the new Hudson Harbor development in Tarrytown, a neighborhood of upscale town homes on the Hudson River. The development is just one project in a multi-billion dollar revitalization of the Hudson River Valley waterfront taking place from Yonkers to Poughkeepsie. We’ll report more when the market opens, but we wanted to keep you in the loop. It’s poised to open next month. Rivermarket Bar & Kitchen, W. Main Street, Tarrytown.
