Mount Kisco Kitchen Has Us Swooning

We love everything about this kitchen from this month's House Beautiful.

We flipped when we saw this stunning Mount Kisco kitchen in this month’s House Beautiful magazine. From the shaker style kitchen cabinets to the vintage lighting and farmhouse table, this kitchen, designed by Young Huh, is traditional, but young and fresh. Find out how the designer achieved such a perfect mix…

The owners wanted the kitchen to blend in with their house, built in the 1900′s. I personally love when home owners go in this direction. The table was purchased at an antique store and the cabinets (Plain & Fancy) were purchased unfinished and painted Teresa’s Green by Farrow & Ball. The owners didn’t want the factory finished look and wanted the cabinets to age naturally. (I have painted white cabinets and the paint comes off in the places that get washed the most. It can get a little too Shabby Chic but they can always be repainted!) The counters are Soapstone and I love how dark they look against the cabinets. All the cabinets pulls are from House of Antique Hardware and look like brass from the photos. I love how they mixed brass with a chrome faucet. This kitchen looks plain but it’s really fancy.

As for the green mudroom in the background in the below photo… Wow! That color (Arsenic by Farrow & Ball) is such a beautiful surprise. And, I think, the dog wants to come inside!
