There I was every weekend at my gym, Crunch in Union Square. I worked out leisurely, then strolled home feeling those delicious post work-out endorphins probably thinking about getting ready for a date or a night out with the girls. Those days feel very far away. But apparently Crunch will soon be back in my ‘hood, only this time in White Plains with a pre-opening enrollment price so low, I triple checked to make sure I had it right. Plus there’s five more locations in Westchester in the works.
Crunch is known for it’s hip, “downtown” vibe, bright colored walls, plus the “no judgements” slogan. Their first location was in New York City’s East Village and they have since expanded to cities all over the country. Crunch has always been known for its innovative classes. My favorite work-out of all time was “Urban Rebounding,” where everyone in the class had their own trampoline.
Opening at the end of February and located several storefronts down from the Ritz Carlton on North Broadway, Crunch White Plains will be 21,000 square feet with over 80 pieces of cardio equipment, a large variety of machines and free weights, personal training, classes, nutrition planning, HyrdroMassage and top of the line tanning beds. (Yup, tanning beds.) They’ll offer classes like “Belly, Butt and Thighs Bootcamp,” “BodyWeb with TRX” (hang from ropes for a total body suspension workout), “Tread N’ Shed” (a treadmill workout), and “Retro-Robotics” (cardio with an ’80s flair).
Crunch White Plains is offering an amazing pre-opening special through January 31: Join for $9.95 monthly and $10 down or join for $19.95 monthly and $10 down with extra perks like unlimited tanning, HydroMassage, gym hopping and (drum roll please…) you can bring a friend for free every time you work out! (I’ve never heard of this before.) Plus, free parking. There is no contract and no fee to cancel. Crunch is looking into the following locations for more gyms: Port Chester, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Pelham and Yorktown Heights.

Very helpful info. I’m already a memeber at Crunch Chelsea, but I really do home they open in either Yonkers or Riverdale. They are no only known for their hipster style , but they are very gay friendly.
