We are super excited about a great event taking place at the Voracious Reader on Saturday, March 8 from 11am to 1pm called MamaCon & Papas Too! “This event is the opportunity to connect lots of wonderful new families with some of Westchester’s most supportive and nurturing resources,” says the Voracious Reader’s owner, Francine Lucidon. Designed for families with babies up to 10 months (expectant families are welcome too) there will experts on hand to teach you ways to connect with your little loves, including baby sign language with Debra Aronson, infant massage with Gabrielle Mason, baby yoga with Beth Gibney-Boulden, and of course reading with your baby with Francine. 1997 Palmer Avenue, Larchmont
There are several events taking place this weekend celebrating one of our favorite annual traditions: the tapping of the maple trees.
Visit Westmoreland Sanctuary for SugarFest on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 to learn about maple sugaring through the ages, a super cool demonstrations on tapping the trees and an all-you-can-eat pancake feast served with 100% New York Maple Syrup. There are two seatings on both Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 10:30am and 11:30am to 12:30pm. Advance registration is recommended. Head over to Muscoot Farm on Sunday, March 9 for their FREE Sugaring on the Farm event from 11am to 2:30pm. Learn how sap turns in to syrup during a fun and informative session taking place in Muscoot’s sugar shed. The Greenburgh Nature Center is having their annual Maple Sugaring Party on Sunday, March 9 from 11am to 3pm. Expect tons of neat activities including sap collecting, depictions of Native American and Colonial style sugaring sites, candy and porridge making, and crafts.
